Birmingham City Council invites companies to tender for the renewal of the Clearing Banking Services contract.
The requirement of the clearing bank service will be to manage all the councils financial business through a variety of accounts. The council and the successful bank will work together to deliver an efficient value for money service to the benefit of the citizens of Birmingham.
The proposed duration of the contract is for a period of 5 years with an option to extend the contract for a further 2 years subject to satisfactory performance.
To ensure the financial viability of the clearing bank, tenderers must have a minimum long term credit rating of Investment Grade by ratings agencies. Clearing Banks who fail to meet this minimum requirement will automatically be disqualified from the process.

The successful tenderer will be required to participate actively in the service related economic, social and environmental regeneration of the locality of and surrounding the place of delivery for the procurement. Additional information
The contracting authority considers that this contract may be suitable for economic operators that are small or medium enterprises (SMEs). However, any selection of tenderers will be based solely on the criteria set out for the procurement, and the contract will be awarded on the basis of the most economically advantageous
tender. Requests to participate must be by way of completion and return of the tender documentation by no later than 12:00 hours on 21.1.2014. Applicants will be required to supply to the authority evidence showing their economic and financial standing, technical ability including satisfactory policies and documentation for race relations, environment impact and health and safety.
