Tender Consultants

tender-consultantsTender Consultants helping buyers and suppliers

At Tenders UK our tender consultants provide tender consultancy services to both buyers and suppliers to help them improve the effectiveness and efficiency of their tender processes. Our aim is to help:

Whilst each party could be perceived as having conflicting needs from the tender process, one trying to make the most money possible the other trying to buy what they want at the cheapest price possible, the reality is an effective solution, at a sustainable price, is in both parties best interest.

Our tender consultants work with our clients and their teams to help them understand how to achieve these outcomes in a three phase approach:

  • Step 1: Thinking. Our tender consultants will lead you and your team through a series of workshops to help you look at the process from the other party's perspective.
  • Step 2: Embodiment. Our tender consultants will then help you understand how to structure and write the ITT or response document.
  • Step 3: Management. Finally, our tender consultants help our clients develop the management processes to ensure the tender process is managed effectively.

Our tender consultants use the same tender consultancy process for both buyer and suppliers, with different outcomes:

The primary tool our tender consultants use is called "The Grid". The Grid is a surprisingly simple yet incredibly powerful tool that captures the important issues on a single A4 sheet. It allows both parties to understand:

  • The main aim of the ITT
  • The five things that are most important to achieving this aim
  • What are the specific objectives that need to be achieved to address these issues
  • How the product or service needs to be delivered to meet these objectives
  • What milestones and deliverables need to be provided and measured
  • What attributes the best service provider will have
  • What evidence of capability is needed

Comments like "we were particularly impressed with the way you asked us all the right questions to make us rethink our approach" or "our tender submissions have improved greatly since we started working with Tenders-UK" are typical of the feedback we get from our clients.

If you want to re-think how you approach the tender process, whether from a buying or supply perspective then contact us. Our tenders consultants will be happy to discuss how we may be able to help.
